Not A Bad Soccer Season

The Convoy winter soccer season has ended. We went out with a bang with a 6-1 victory over the Resolutes. They are a strong team near the top in the standings but last night they were short players and we had plenty. We actually got 7 goals but one was disallowed because the ref saw it as a slide which is not allowed in our league. The other team deserves credit as it was 0-0 at the half, they were short handed, and they played the night before so they tired in the second half. That gives us 4 wins, 4 tied, and 7 losses. That's a huge improvement over last year. Tournament in 2 weeks at the Agridome near Truro, hopefully we land a Spring season spot, and then it's on to Summer season. Winter and Summer are completely different games and I'm not sure if I have a preference. Winter is a small field and fast where Summer is large field a lot more long running. The Winter surface is like one of those green kitchen scrub pad things and a few are usually bleeding somewhere from hitting it. The summer surface is still synthetic but a lot more forgiving on the skin. Unfortunately the only goals I scored in the Winter season were in the bathroom at halftime.
