Deja Vu Of Juan

Pretty windy out there the other day. Didn't think much of it other than really cool blowing trees. This particular tree was next to our shed which is on the side of the house. It fell onto another tree in the perfect direction not to do any damage to the shed or house. The kids and the neighbors kids sawed away at the branches for a long time. Not by my request but whatever non-damaging stuff they want to do that wears them out works for me.

I Needed to Evict Mickey

Noticed a bad smell in the furnace room. Couldn't figure it out but eventually traced it to a blue bag of recyclables. Horrible smell when I found the source and it ended up being a mouse that climbed in a Smirnoff Ice bottle and died there. So then I decide to clean the garage up a bit and noticed a weird smell again, sort of similar but not as bad. Turned out another mouse made himself or herself a Winter nest in my printing press UV dryer. When I took it apart a mouse darted out and then disappeared. It looked like a lot of work to put that nest together but Mickey picked the wrong location for a long time stay. My kids and the neighbor's kids (5 of them all together) searched the garage thoroughly and finally got the little one out the front door unharmed but without a home. The nest is pictured below, about the size of your average sized cantaloupe. It was made of many different materials gathered including paper towel, yarn, and leaves. Below is a pic with the cover I took off that houses a 2000 watt light bulb, an extremely hot bulb that instantly drys ink. Glad I never turned it on before I found the winter home. Probably saved the mouse and maybe a fire.
